We recently carried out the excavation of a large 1 acre lake for a client as part of a wider programme of major groundworks. The project also included stream and pond clearance, drainage works, fencing and tree clearance across the site.
Large Scale Excavation and Construction
Over 1 Acre in Size and Over 3 Metres Deep
The lake measures over one acre in size and more than 3 metres deep. It was sealed using over 200 hours of a heavy vibrating roller working behind a bulldozer to ensure a compact and watertight finish.

Retaining Structure and Water Movement System
Slipway and Recirculating Pump Installation
The far retaining wall is over 15 feet high and 5 metres thick and includes a slipway with a capture tank and recirculating pump to create constant movement of water within the lake.

Once the lake is filled, a 1.5HP aerator system will be installed to help keep the water clear and healthy for fish and swimming. Further works will include laying bases for a summer house and deck as part of the ongoing development and landscaping of this site.
